T42US- HAVANA CUBA (October 21 to October 28) … The 7163 DX Group and the Federacion de Radioaficionados de Cuba (FRC) are pleased to announce the upcoming DX operation from Havana, Cuba. The combined group will be operating under the special call T42US between October 21 and October 28 including during the CQ WW DX SSB Contest. There will be 9 operators from the USA and approximately the same number from Cuba. The T42US group will operate 160-6 meters SSB and CW (Including 60 Meters). The USA Team leader is Jim, WB2REM and Cuban Team Leader Bob, CM2KL. The Direct QSL route is via WB2REM and Buro via K9DIG.

In addition to our T42US operation we will be holding an Exhibition at the Federacion de Radioaficionados de Cuba (FRC) building. This exhibition will include a demonstration of Amateur Radio to young people in Cuba by Nancy, K9DIG and reading of her book "Mike Races Again."  There will also be presentations on new technology in Ham radio and Ham Radio in Cuba. We will  be administering US VE Exams in Havana. This will be the first time in radio history that this has occured.

Lastly, we will be holding a banquet in which we will thank our Cuban hosts and socialize with the operators and their family. We hope that this operation will help bring people of our nations together through sharing of a mutual experience.
